Maggie Henderson.

To me, pursuing excellence means working at all aspects of life  including physical, personal,  emotional and social to be the best you  can be.

Physical activity and sports have always been a huge part of my life.  They taught me how to set goals, work hard, stay motivated, and  persevere when things get tough. Because of those thing, I was  fortunate enough to compete nationally and internationally in sprint  kayaking. In university I decided to follow my passion for learning  about the body and how it reacted under the stress of physical  activity and completed an honours degree in kinesiology at Dalhousie.  I graduated in 2013 and immediately began working as a coach and  personal trainer. In May 2018 I made the transition to Blended  Athletics where I couldn’t be happier! The team and community here are  amazing and make coming to work everyday fun, challenging and enjoyable.

My philosophy for training is that it should be fun and functional.  There’s nothing I enjoy more than being part of someone’s journey as  they grow to love the gym and their workouts. I believe everyone can  benefit and most importantly enjoy working out once they’ve found the  right environment for them. If you’re looking for a challenging yet  fun environment look no further!

I am a strength and conditioning coach with a background in martial arts and board sports (skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing). Because of this background I am quite fond of rotational and balance exercises. I enjoy working with older adults and I firmly believe it is never too late to start working on your fitness.
